Free and Reduced Tickets

Information on eligibility for free admission and discounted tickets to Ancient Olympia.

Access to Greece's cultural heritage is available to many visitors for free or at a reduced rate. Find out if you are eligible and what documentation you need to bring. Even if you qualify for free entry, you must still obtain a zero-value ticket.

Eligibility for Free Admission

    • Children and young people up to the age of 25 from EU member states.
    • Children up to the age of 18 from non-EU countries.
    • Students from universities in EU member states.
    • People with disabilities and one companion.
    • Journalists with a valid press card.

Valid proof of status (e.g., passport, ID card, student card) is required at the entrance.

Free Admission Days for All

The site is free for everyone on the following dates:

    • 6 March (in memory of Melina Mercouri)
    • 18 April (International Monuments Day)
    • 18 May (International Museums Day)
    • The last weekend of September (European Heritage Days)
    • 28 October (National Holiday)
    • Every first and third Sunday from November 1st to March 31st.

Reduced Admission

A reduced ticket price of €10 is available for:

    • Greek citizens and EU citizens aged 65 and over (from October 1st to May 31st).
    • Students from non-EU countries.

Proof of eligibility is required at the ticket control.

Winter Season Discount

From November 1st to March 31st, the price of all tickets is reduced by 50%. The full ticket becomes €10 and the reduced ticket becomes €5.

Do I still need a ticket if I'm eligible for free entry?
Yes. You must obtain a free admission ticket either online in advance or at the ticket office on the day of your visit. Booking online is recommended to avoid queues.
What kind of ID do I need to show?
A valid passport or national ID card that shows your age and country of origin is required. Students should present a valid student ID card from their university.
